ICD-10 Preparation

It is time to turn our focus on October 1, 2013, for the ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS implementation. This change will affect multiple aspects of hospital operations as we know them today. Kudos to those of you who have already begun gearing up for the changes, and already have committees in place.
For those of us, and I am sure there are many, who have not, there is a wealth of information available on time line implementation, including important check lists through the American Hospital Association.. From a coding education perspective, the bulk of education and training on the new system should be an ongoing process.

Fusion Forum 2010 User's Conference and Training Workshop Recap

The Fusion Forum User's Conference and Training Workshop is my favorite event. This is our fourth biennial User's Conference and I truly enjoyed the opportunity to meet our end users and watch them interact with each other. This event allows our end users and potential customers to come together for training and networking. This year Dolbey held the 2010 Fusion Forum in conjunction with AHIMA to assist those hospitals whose travel budgets have been constricted by allowing them the opportunity to attend two conferences while only having to pay the travel expenses of one.
